Blood of Christ; Dedication (3×10)
Magnified Perfection of the Divine Order
Marking the Right Moment – Blood Sacrifice

Notice that the number 30 is associated with a blood sacrifice.
Is the number 300 an extension of these two major theological and redemptive themes signified by the number 3 and 30?
Is the number 300 connected with Divine Perfection and the blood sacrifice of the perfect Lamb of God?

Let’s explore how this number is used in Scripture to see if we can find the answer.

Enoch

The First Mention of 300

The first time the number 300 is found in Scriptures is in Genesis 5:22.

And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

Biblical Principle of Interpretation
The law of first mention

Law of First Mention: The first mention of a doctrine, teaching, theme, topic or word tethers the future disclosures of the same theme, topic, word or number to the mind of God.

The first mention of a doctrine, teaching, theme, topic word or number in Scripture takes on special significance as it discloses God’s primary intended meaning of the doctrine, teaching, theme, topic, word or number. This means that the first occurrence needs to be considered and consulted as a primary witness whenever it subsequently occurs in the Scripture.

Methuselah and the number 300

Three hundred is the number of years between the birth of Methuselah and the translation of Enoch to heaven without dying. Methuselah is a name that means His Death Shall Bring,

Notice that in Genesis 5:22 there are two things connected to the number 300.

1.   The death of Methuselah as a harbinger of the coming flood
2.   Enoch translated to heaven without dying

Noah and the number 300 & 30

The next time the number 300 occurs in Scripture is in Genesis 6:15.  The number 300 comes to Noah from the mouth of God.

And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.

The length of the ark was 300 cubits. The verse that helps us understand the meaning of this number is found in the New Testament letter to the Hebrews.

 Hebrews 11:7

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness, which is by faith.

  • The number 300 is the length in cubits of Noah’s ark. It is connected with the previous verse found in Genesis 5:22 in ways most people do not realize.
  • In Genesis 5, as we just learned, Enoch is given 300 more years on earth before he is “taken up” to be with God without going through death. His son’s name is a prophecy that connects the flood with the death of Methuselah. Methuselah means, “His death shall bring.”
  • If you do the math, you discover that Methuselah died just weeks before the Lord brought the flood on the earth.
  • In Genesis 6, the number 300 is not a period of time but the length of the ark that will save Noah and his family.
  • Notice that all the verses that reveal the number 300 are connected with death and supernatural victory over death.

In Genesis 6 the reference to the number 300 has to do with a divinely appointed instrument of salvation that is made of wood. Notice that the number 300 is also associated with two other numbers. Those numbers are (30) and (50)

Noah’s ark was divinely appointed instrument of salvation made of wood whose dimension intentionally direct us to the three concepts found in three numbers.

( 300)   – Victory over Death – Resurrection

( 30) – Blood Sacrifice

(  50) – Grace multiplied by Ordinal Perfection = Jubilee!

Does anything come to mind as you consider the message hidden in the numbers of Noah’s ark?

Joseph and the Number 300

The next occurrence of the number 300 is found in Genesis 45:22.

Keep in mind that the one doing the giving in this verse is JOSEPH. Joseph is a type of Christ.

Genesis 45:22

To all of them he gave each man changes of raiment; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver, and five changes of raiment.

In order to understand the prophetic significance of the number 300 in this verse, you need to understand the meaning of the name Benjamin.

What does Benjamin mean?
The answer is that Benjamin means “the son of my right hand.”

Is this a prophetic picture of Christ risen from the dead and seated at the right hand of God making intercession for the ones He has saved with His sacrificial death?

Ephesians 1:20

Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places.

Colossians 3:1

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

 Silver and the number 300

We also discover that in Genesis 45:22, the number 300 is associated with both Benjamin and with silver.

Silver is a picture of God’s WORD. Silver is also a picture of redemption. Notice the number that shows up next to the number 300 in Genesis 45:22. It is the number 5.

Does the number 300 have something to do with redemption followed by 5 the number of grace?

Now let’s look at the next reference to the number 300 as found in Judges Chapter 7 verses 6 and 7. In these verses, God is instructing Gideon. Listen to what the Lord says:

Gideon and the Number 300

And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water. And the Lord said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.

The next reference to the number 300 is found in Judges Chapter 15 verse 4.

Sampson and the Number 300

And Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took firebrands, and turned tail to tail, and put a firebrand in the midst between two tails.

Can you see the connection between the number 300 and Victory over the Enemy?

David’s Mighty Men and the Number 300

The next reference to the number 300 is found in 1 Chronicles 11:11.

And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had; Jashobeam, an Hashmonite, the chief of the captains: he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain by him at one time.

Summary of Meaning of Number 300 Connected

with Gideon, Sampson, and David

We have examined the three scriptures that connect Gideon, Sampson and the mighty men of David. Notice that they are all variations of the same theme.

Simply put, the number 300 is associated with victory over the enemy and bloodshed.

The thing that makes these three conquests unusual is that they can only be understood as you see the hand of God giving a supernatural victory that defies human ability.

If we were to describe the meaning of the number 300 based on these verses alone we might translate the meaning as follows:

God Will be Victorious Over all His Enemies

Does the number 300 show up in the New Testament?

The answer yes!

Yeshua Ha-Mashiach and the Number 300

The number 300 shows up prominently just days before the death and burial of the Lord as recorded in the gospel of Mark the 14th Chapter.
While in the house of Simon the leper, Mary of Bethany broke open an alabaster box of very precious ointment and poured it over the head of Jesus.

The response of Judas Iscariot and some others is recorded in the Scriptures.

Mark 14:4-5

And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made? For it might have been sold for  more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her. What the number 300 means in this story will be immediately understood by simply reading the response of Jesus.

Mark 14:6-9

And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? She hath wrought a good work on me. For ye have the poor with you always, and whomsoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. She hath done what she could: she is come a forehand to anoint my body to the burying. Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.

If we were to describe the meaning of the number 300 based on this verse alone how would we translate the meaning?

The Glad Tidings and the Number 300

The number 300 is a proclamation of the death and burial of Yeshua Ha-Mashiach, the Lord Jesus, the Christ. Jesus discloses that the story recorded in the Gospel of Matthew, Mark, and John, including the number 300, is going to be published as a part of the gospel narrative preached throughout the world.

So to be clear, the number is not only associated with death and burial but also the good news that Christ is risen!

The number 300 is an awesome numeric reminder of the price that was paid for our redemption.

A summarization of all the verses could read as follows:

We have a certain hope that we will have victory over the final enemy of death, all because of the death, burial, and resurrection of Yeshua Ha-Mashiach, Jesus the Christ.

The letter Sheen and the number 300 is connected to the number 3 – The Sacred number that means Divine Perfection.
The letter Sheen and the number 300 are also connected to the number 30 – The number that is associated with Blood Sacrifice.
The Number 300 wraps them all together as it discloses a Supernatural Victory over Death and Hell achieved by Yeshua Ha-Mashiach on the blood blood-stained of Calvary.
